Group training is run under the branch of the Clever Dog Company. There are 4 types of group training, namely: Puppy Class, Beginner Class, Graduate Class and Fun Agility Class. Classes are limited to 6 a group to ensure plenty of individual help for everyone. Certificates will be issued at the end of the course for progression onto the next. Some classes are tied to the Kennel Club Good Citizen Puppy Foundation Course.
Puppy I Class
(For puppies aged up to 18 weeks)
Don't leave it too late! Puppies learn incredibly quickly and these early
classes are designed to allow them to build confidence and social skills with
adults, children and other puppies in a controlled environment as well as
learning all the basics of training. Puppies need to be 18 weeks or under at the
start of the course - but the earlier the better!
Our classes are designed to be fun, relaxed and enjoyable for you, your
family and your puppy. Exceptional results in just four weeks!
Puppy II Class
(For puppies after 18 weeks)
Our Puppy II follow-on course is designed for adolescent dogs when they are
likely to challenge boundaries, want to explore and experience new things and
generally behave like ..... teenagers! This course builds on the basic exercises
taught in Puppy I as well as teaches impulse control and new behaviours such as
tricks for fun, to stimulate your dog and increase your skills as a
trainer.
Beginner Class
(For older puppies, adolescents and older dogs)
For older puppies, adolescents and older dogs which need basic training, this
course is designed to help you understand how your dog learns and to give you
both an opportunity to enjoy some training with lots of individual help.
We cover all the basics that most owners want and need - sit, down, stand,
attention training, recall, walking nicely on the lead, leave, and some fab
tricks, just for fun! The basic courses are intensive, fun and the results are
amazing!
Graduate Class
(For dogs that have completed Puppy I and II or beginner course)
The classes are exclusively for dogs which have already taken puppy I and II, or
beginner courses with an Clever Dog Company® group. Further skills, tricks and
individual training goals are the focus for this course. Many owners want to
continue their dog's training or address typical ‘teenage' behaviours, such as
selective hearing in the park, or jumping up at visitors. However, if you want
your dog to load and unload the washing machine, or to find the TV remote
control and fetch it to you - this is the course for you, too!
Fun Agility Class
(For adult dogs that have completed Intermediate Course)
From Jack Russell to Labrador, the fun agility classes offer a chance to have
fun with your dog in a relaxed outdoor environment. The emphasis on these
classes is gentle control outside, not on competition agility. This means that
even young puppies can take part, using the obstacles for confidence-building.
All the agility takes place outdoors, off-leash. We strongly advise that you
attend a basic course of training lessons first. Only fit dogs over one year can
do any jumping or impact work.
